It’s messy. it’s wholesome. it’s fun! When Splatterhouse Paintball exploded onto the scene in Brookshire, it provided a family, party, and youth group destination second to none. Life has never been the same for the Crutchfield family and their clientele . . .
Years ago when Troy Crutchfield’s church friends invited him to a paintball field, he had a great time. But in the back of his mind he thought, “We could make it better.” That chance visit planted a seed, and he immediately began dreaming of a paintball field that incorporated a personal touch.
When SplatterHouse Paintball was born, Crutchfield and his wife, Heather, were careful to taylor the year-round fun with families and organizations in mind. They knew their customers would drive in from LaGrange to Columbus to Sealy to Katy to Houston to Missouri City (and all points in between). Wanting to make the trip worthwhile, they came up with two field rules: 1.) Walk away in the same condition you walked in, and 2.) Have fun!
The timing could not have been more perfect! Although SplatterHouse opened at the height of a sweltering Texas summer in June 2009, it has steadily drawn fans. “The economy is tight and families are looking for ways to enjoy their time off economically. While vacations may be too expensive, “stay-cations” are the perfect alternative and SpatterHouse is a fun and practical destination for folks of all walks of life,” says Crutchfield. Operating year round, SplatterHouse offers tournaments, birthday party venues, corporate events, and walk-up Friday nights where they turn on the field lights and let everyone play, and also show a movie on a big screen.
SplatterHouse especially caters to law enforcement, military, and the faith-based community who all receive discounts. “Our biggest clientele is churches and youth groups,” says Crutchfield, “And we give them great rates. Sunday is Church Day, where people can bring in a church bulletin and get 50% off admission.” Paintballers also enjoy a new 600 square foot pavillion and a variety of fields.
What’s new on the horizon? “Our next door neighbor is opening up a go-cart track and we look forward to offering a paintless laser tag in the near future,” says Crutchfield. We are really excited to offer our second annual Haunted Trail for Halloween, bigger and better than ever! Don’t forget to grab your friends and head out to Splatterhouse on Friday nights from 5 to 11. Free Admission!”
SplatterHouse Paintball is affiliated with www.ChristianPaintballFellowship.com, a wonderful organization that helps youth groups grow! Youth directors are finding that paintball is a terrific way to attract kids & young adults to join the fun and fellowship of a church ministry. “Going into the trenches” to build enthusiasm for the sport and their faith is a win/win!
