Lights of Tejas
Camp Tejas is hanging over 1 million lights for their third annual Lights of Tejas. The event is open 20 select evenings from November 24 to December 23. The inaugural Lights of Tejas was held in 2010 with over 800,000 lights and almost 3,200 visitors. 2011 saw over a million lights hung and almost 7,000 visitors. The 2012 Lights of Tejas promises to be another exciting event with exponential growth!
Our greatest Christmas memories are formed by our Christmas family traditions, and there’s no greater favorite than taking in the brilliance and color of Christmas lights. Lights of Tejas not only provides over a million lights to take that tradition to new heights, but also a festive atmosphere full of activities, food, and fun! The highlights of Lights of Tejas are two light show venues where hundreds of thousands of lights are orchestrated to music and Scripture narration. Other activities include a 50-foot tower featuring climbing walls and four ziplines, inflatables, face painting, hayrides, a dazzling light maze, bungee trampolines, and gaga glow ball. Plenty of options are available for a full dinner or just a fun holiday snack. Take a break indoors with a meal and some hot cocoa, or get toasty around one of the open outdoor fires available for hotdogs and s’mores. Even a gift shop is open, with products ranging from holiday décor to special eyeglasses that turn the Christmas lights into a sparkling array of snowflakes, stars, or reindeer!

Camp Tejas
Camp Tejas is a Christian Camp and Retreat Center just south of Giddings and north of La Grange on U.S. Hwy. 77. The camp is owned and operated by Tejas Ministries, Inc. Almost 18,000 guests visited the camp last year, most from Christian churches and organizations in central Texas, including the Houston metro area. During the summer months, the camp is full of children and youth enjoying multiple sessions of summer camp. In the fall and spring, the camp functions as a retreat center with guests staying over the weekend.
