Letter from the Editor

The months of February and March are particularly endearing as we celebrate Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day. It just so happens that my own sister’s family (and their dog) experienced an incredible journey of “lost and found,” which we dubbed “Puppy Love” — a twist on the traditional Valentine’s love story, all wrapped up in “fur.” It made an extra special hero out of Sheriff’s Deputy Stephen Jimenez (and caused such a social media stir)… and we just had to share it!

We also located an Irish Katyite who uncovered some remarkable discoveries on her family tree. We feature her and her daughter on our cover, and it turns out that the Irish had quite a bit to do with the founding of our country. Read our cover story to see how the television show “Who Do You Think You Are?” ultimately led to their membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution.

We also share a different “take” on our Pastor Profile, this time featuring an ordained minister who serves Katy in a business suit. Enjoy this and more as our February/March issue hits the stands. We hope it blesses you and your families.
