Isn’t it nice that for the first time I can recall, our votes for the presidential primaries actually meant something? In Texas for instance, our magazines’ endorsed candidate, Ted Cruz, won by a landslide. Overall, many of the candidates that we endorsed won, some lost, and a few others are in the run-offs that will be held in late May.
In Harris County we are strongly backing Paul Simpson for Harris County Republican Chair, Lori Bartley for Congress, District 18, and Gary Gates for Railroad Commissioner.
In Fort Bend County we love Ron Cohen for County Court at Law Number 5, Mike Beard for Constable Precinct 1, and Gary Gates for Railroad Commissioner. Additionally, our magazine endorsed Wayne Thompson for Fort Bend Constable, Precinct 3 in the primaries. However, since then I have gotten to know Rob Cook. I find him to be an outstanding person; a man of integrity and character, who has done a great job defending Fort Bend County. While we don’t pull our endorsement of Wayne, either man would do a wonderful job protecting the citizens of Fort Bend County.
For far too long, Christians have been told they shouldn’t be involved in politics. Due to this, many have turned a blind eye to this essential establishment, refraining from voting or running for office as proud servants of God. As a result, we have filled our offices with corrupt rulers who view Christianity with contempt and suspicion, while praising the secular and ungodly. If we are to save our great nation, we must stand for what’s right. If the righteous won’t speak out for truth and justice, then who will?
