Claire McCutcheon and Li (Alice) Wang were named valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, of Faith West Academy Class of 2017.
Claire McCutcheon, Valedictorian
The valedictorian, Claire, is the daughter of Wade and Heather McCutcheon. Claire excelled in the classroom where she took Advanced Placement and Honors courses and had a four-year GPA of 4.77, as well as participated in numerous extracurricular activities. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the National Science Honor Society. Claire was a cheerleader for the FWA Eagles that has received several State and National awards.
In the fall, Claire will attend University of Texas to major in biology. Her plans are to enter Medical Science, but her specialty is undecided.
Li (Alice) Wang, Salutatorian
The salutatorian, Alice, is the daughter of Hongming Wang and Yan Yang. Alice comes from the Province of Sichuan in China. She came to America for her studies during her eighth grade year. Her accumulative GPA is 4.76. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Speech and Debate Team, Choir, Book Club, International Club and the Thespian Society. She was also a member of the Color Guard and swim team.
Alice will attend University of Michigan in Ann Arbor to study business administration to become an entrepreneur.
Both Claire and Alice exemplify the character and achieved the academic requirements that define them as outstanding 2017 graduating seniors of Faith West Academy. Faith West Academy is an inter-denominational private Christian school offering preschool to 12th grade excellence in education.
