Matthew 28:19
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Two weeks ago I wrote an article about Joan Murray the author, and her struggles trying to ink her sixteenth book. But there is another side of Joan Murray and Joan Murray Ministries that you do not know: Joan Murray the evangelist.
At my church, Church at the Cross in Houston, our mission for all members is to, “Win One in 21.” Basically, our noble goal is for every member that has taken this challenge, to lead one person to Christ for the calendar year 2021. Most of us (sadly yours truly included) have not yet achieved that goal.
Sounds sensible, right? After all, how hard could that be? There are 365 days in a year, so each of us has plenty of time to cultivate a relationship throughout the course of the year, and prayerfully someone should accept Christ as long as we are true to our mission.
Now suppose your goal is to lead one person to Christ, every day, for 15 years. At the end of 15 years, you would have led not quite 5500 lost souls to the Lord. In order to accomplish what Joan Murray and her team have accomplished over the past 15 years, you would have to lead almost five people daily to Christ, not missing a single day, for 15 years straight!
Now pretend just one-in-a-thousand of those people who received Christ as their Savior by Joan Murray Ministries took their calling as seriously as does Joan Murray? You could make the argument that when she reaches Heaven, she will be able to see over 100,000 thousand saints in Heaven as a result of her faithfulness in sharing the Gospel.
I understand not all of us have the same calling or anointing as does Joan Murray and her team, but if we take God seriously, we should not be ashamed of our faith, but rather joyful, and eager to tell others about the truth that has set you free.
If you thought Joan Murray and her team just wrote books and shared the Gospel, you would be wrong, dead wrong. Here are some of the other accomplishments they have under their belt-
Around 46,000 people served in the USA. Veterans served monthly for approximately 13 years.
About 24 back-to-school outreaches in the USA.
Roughly 52,000 people in 10 countries over 18 trips.
8-10 pastors in leadership conferences on the mission trips pouring hope and encouragement into them.
Several miracles in hospitals and communities served, lady healed of breast cancer.
Over 200,000 pounds of food given away around the world.
Along with their supporters and churches, built a classroom in Belize, a church in Zimbabwe, helped build an orphanage in Zimbabwe, a church and school in Haiti.
Over 6000-8000 backpacks given away along with thousands of school supplies.
Thousands of pieces of clothing, shoes, and toys.
Partnership with churches and ministries training them how to provide services in their communities.
Featured in magazines, newspapers, a number of radio and TV interviews in USA and Internationally.
Quarterly Bible studies, minister at conferences, workshops, churches, etc., and would love to garner more speaking opportunities.
Happy 15-year anniversary Joan Murray Ministries from the team at Katy Christian Magazine! If there were more people like you who have surrendered their lives totally to Christ as clearly you have, the world would be a much better place!
Matthew 6:19-21
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
