T-Shirt Dad Makes Buying Local Easy

By  |

“Buying Local” is a phrase and a philosophy that has taken off in recent years. Generally, it refers to fresh food products, but it also relates to the overall concept of buying less from big chains and the Internet and more from your neighborhood store.  Mike Forsyth, owner of Revolution Screening Texas, is a Katy guy who is all about buying local. He has embedded himself in his community through the Katy Rotary, the Hispanic Chamber, and work with locals who are talking about his new store. Forsyth’s recently opened business does custom T-shirts, silk screening, embroidery, and promotional materials, and serves both the business community and the general public. You can have one T-shirt printed or hundreds, and Forsyth prides himself on offering an unprecedented level of service regardless of the size of your order.

I hit deadlines every time and produce the product exactly like the customer wants it. And if I don’t – even it came from a problem with the original artwork – I’ll make it right.” He’s had plenty of experience in the industry (the company is celebrating its 10-year anniversary) but is new to the Katy area. He, his wife and children moved here from Sacramento two years ago, and Forsyth has been running the store in California remotely ever since. Falling in love with Katy and wanting to be as involved as he can be in the community has prompted him to move his very successful store to his new hometown.

He explained, “In California, we were THE community printer. I was involved in my kids’ school, volunteered on the PTA, and eventually became known as ‘The T-shirt Dad.’ I made it a habit to offer great discounts to  the schools and then take it a step further and sponsor an event or make a donation. I’m all about giving back, and I’m ready to do the same in Katy.” In a time when the Internet is ruling our world, it’s nice to know there’s a local business ready to offer customer service and personal attention. Forsyth does much more than a typical online printer. He advises business clients on exactly what marketing materials are best for trade shows and events and even creates logos for companies needing some branding help.
